A professional couple from Calgary wanted to transform their longtime summer retreat into a permanent home. To fully enjoy their new waterfront location, we extended the living spaces into the outdoors with a sundeck off the master bedroom, a generous porch, and a patio with outdoor fireplace. The home’s energy efficiency was boosted with extra insulation, high quality windows, and an HRV. Lots of wood inside creates a warm and welcoming space. Locating the principal living spaces away from the road reduced traffic noise from a busy highway nearby. In addition, a special film was applied on the road-facing windows to attenuate sound. This allows our clients to enjoy their new, laid-back Island life in peace.
